Nice medal, it's rare to see this "29" Memel made with this type of dark brass/bronze metal.

          My books:

          - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
          - THE SS TK RING
          - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
          - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
          - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

          and more!

Thanks a lot for your help to all of you!
Antonio, i suppose you mean the maker "29"? What makes that piece a "29"?

            kind regards,

            Stefan

...here is another Spange i recentlyadded to my collection. I personally fancy the EK variations on these two pieces.

              thanks for looking,

Very nice medalbars. good find in both cases. The memel and this EK variation give a special touch to them.

                    Hi Stefan,

This medal bar makes me pause.

Firstly the West Wall should be in last position...there is some debate over Flower Wars medals being on the same bar as a West Wall Medal as a soldier could not be in two places at once (i.e. Memelland/Western Front) though there are good period examples of medal/ribbon bars that testify to the contrary but I cannot personally recall seeing a Memel mounted with a West Wall Medal (with the exception of high ranking SS etc who were perhaps "given" these awards as opposed to "earning" them).

Just an observation- there appear to be two different styles of ribbon mounting on this bar- Iron Cross and West Wall are in one style and the Sudetenland and Memel in a slightly different style.

                    Kind regards
                    Pierce
