    Crappy ribbon bars

Some years ago, before i knew better, I bought 5 single ribbon bars from a guy (nordwind) how sells tons of stuff on militaria321.
It turned out that 3 of the 5 bars were fakes made by himself using real ribbons and maybe even real devices. He also sells alot of ribbons.

I later read on other forums that he is known for making his own bars but i cant find anything about him here on WAF?

Anyway, I am bored today so I thought I should dissect one and show you.

As you can see they are all the same with the same plate, copper or brass, I dont know witch...

    Close up:

    After the dissection:

Im not saying all his ribbon bars are bad (I got 2 good ones of him) but he never shows the backsides but often you can see the plate sticking out in the front and guess what kind of plate it is?

Has anyone else had some dealing with Wilfried or have his bars at home? I know he sells alot so someone here probably has... Or am i the only one?

      No problem Wayne.

I have looked at a couple of his medals and they looked good to me, except a british WW2-star what was obviously a fake.

But I found this on GMIC (posted 2005):
don`t buy from this seller on ebay germany!!!!! His nickname is "tunnelmolch" and he often sells fakes, I think he only sells fakes angry.gif It is Mr.Wilfried Freitag from Bad Driburg who is well known in germany for faked battle clasps, new build medal bars and all other kinds of (expensive) fakes.... he has always some thousand auctions on militariaweb.com under the name "nordwind" - TAKE CARE!!!
      So buyer beware!

No one happen to have a ribbon bar that looks like my 3 bars?

Thanks Pierce, It´s just sad that one cant buy even cheap things like this ones without having to worry about fakes.

And with quite an unusual Customs device.
