Thanks Rick, any other opinions on this? After purchasing this several months ago, I ran across a guy who had about 4 of these for sale at a show. Needless to say I was a bit shaken. I believe they were made similar to this one.

Yes, the backing is somewhat "hairy". Bad sign? I would have thought these with the castle bar would be somewhat uncommon, no?

Hairy... well... I wouldn't toss it just on that. Have you blacklighted it?

As something of a side note, what is the general consensus on hairy backed ribbon bars with pins that look like they were sharpened?

Might just be the glare from the flash, but the bar does not seem to have the detail I would expect to see...
