Blue Division Medal

Good afternoon fellows. I just picked up this Blue Division medal in a collection I just recently purchased. It appears to be an original but I have never owned one of these, so I just can't be sure it's real. I would welcome opinions on this medal.

Thanks for the feedback! It compared well to known originals but I have to admit that I have a fairly high level of paranoia in medals & badges....and rightly so.

The ribbon is a post 1945 and about the medal, to be 100% sure we have to have it in my hands. In the last 2 years a lot of these medals, very well designed, with a lot of gilding remaining, with these non original ribbons, have invaded the market. For everybody, to distinguish a well preserved original than these fakes by pictures is almost imposible. Just some dots and imperfections in the surfance as this medal shows can switch the red lights on (look under the handle of the sword). Some originals have the same traces resulting of a oxidation process, but in this case the gilding is not there.
In my experience, all the medals awarded to spanish soldiers are grey today, almost without any traces of gildering. If you are a begginer in this medal, trust in my and do not sell a perfetly gilding one.
To complicate everything, fakers know that, and some of these fakes are coming without the gilding in the last months.

The reason that there's been so many of these the last two years that show such great preservation is that they were part of the Deschler & Sohn, München hoarde. Along with all the KVK's these were also in the lot. I know a dealer who has almost 50 of these in this condition. They are not fake just haven't ever seen the light of day since the end of WWII.

This is just the explanation given by the polish fakers to sell their medals. Sorry, but as I said, this medals are today imposible to identify as originals only by a picture. I´m not saying that this is a fake, but this must by searching in hand to be 100% sure.
About the so called Deschler horde of this medal, wich apeared with a rare MM wrapping, in this forum have been discussed before, and opinions are in conflict.

First I should say that in no way am I polish or do I have any Polish blood in my heritage. Second I have no interest in influencing anyone in any direction. I honestly could care less!!!! They are what they are. Really anyone in disagreement on these needs to check their fundimentals in our area of study. Really it's just part of Dreschler hoarde? Really? Where do you think the entire KVK collection came from?

Kenneth, I think you´ve not understood my posts, or maybe my english is so bad than it´s difficult to understand what I have in my mind. Anycase, read them again, please, and you´ll find I´m not writing against you or against anybody but the fakers. Even I didn´t say this medal was bad for sure.
As an advice to all people about these Blue Division medals: be carefull with them. Only having in your hands you can distinguish fakes from originals, as only the hardware and some minor details (difficult to look by picture) show their origin.

Very good inputs and you explain yourself just fine. It sounds like you know a lot about the Blue Division Medals. I do not feel you said anything offensive.

I am always curious about learning more on these. It was always such an interesting part of the 30's.
