Myself I'm not that keen on it because of the pronounced twist in the legs of
the M's.

Personally I would not buy it.

Mostly because of the seagull and the way the M's are.

I am more of a slanted G fan.

I only have one staight G out of the 6 I have. It's on a bar that I purchased from Kai Winkler.

It past muster here on WAF.

Hi my friend!
This kind of Memel was found so many times in period medal bars, and some fakes are doing using this pattern. I'll be back at home monday, but i think this can be a good one.

I forgot also to tell you that one of the last memel you posted here was an original Petz & Lorenz, so your thought was correct! Even if the other members wrote it was a fake!

AS I told you...
I post a picture that compare an original period Memel with a fake of the same type. As you can see the differences are well visible.

The one at the beginning of the post is an original medal made from an unknown maker, maybe Zimmermann.

You can see the obverse of the fake in all the "mask fake" and in all the Memels marked "16" on the ring.

I post the obverse of the original.

The lettering on the reverse of the fake is a lot thinner than the one I posted.

These are such a tough call.

You either like them or you don't.
