Hello John,

I had two initial concerns about this piece. First, the hinge looks a little messed up, and second, I thought that the catch looked a little thin. These two things do not disqualify the item though, and my overall opinion is that both the medal and the case are original. In fact, I was thinking about trying to bid on this very item myself, but since you are interested in it I will refrain from doing so. Good luck and best regards! Tom

Is the box blue ! Well the base is correct it's the same as used for the KVK and EK (not WB they are a 629 base), so the box is a EK/KVK/WB box with a different outer covering.

It should be black with a black base, perhaps it's just the pic or my comp.

I have seen some original cased pieces..They were a dark blue, rounded corners, domed lid with image of badge on it..

Not 100% sure there were any but could this one pictured be a 1957 and later item? , G.
