Questions about the Social Welfare award with Swords

Hello,

A good friend offerd me a grouping with the Social Welfare Award 3.Class with golden swords on the ribbon. He bought it in the 1975 for 50 DM (25 Euros, about 30 US Dollars ) on a flea market in Berlin. Further informations and pictures when I get the grouping. I know, that the Medal with swords very rare, and the 3rd class with swords very very rare is, and I have a few questions, and I hope, that someone can help me.

1.) Had somebody (or a picture of) a original social welfare Award with Swords? 3rd Class or Medal?

2.) Had somebody a picture of a recipient from a social welfare award with swords (Ribbon- or Medalbar in wear)?

3.) Had somebody a ribbonbar or medalbar with a 3rd class or medal with swords?

4.) What was the right position on the Medal or Ribbonbar? The Social Welfare award with Swords directly after the KVK ? The social welfare award with Swords after the KVK and Ostmedal ? Is this for example (EK 2 1939 – KvK 2.Class with Swords – Social Welfare Medal with Swords – Ostmed.) a possible Ribbon/Medalbar ?

5.) The Social Welfare Award with Swords only recieved “Nichtwehrmachtsangehoerige (non-Wehrmachtmembers)” persons who are “fighting” on the ostfront. Members of the DRK for example?! With witch rank you could get as a DRK Member the 3rd Class (with Swords)? From a "Hauptfuehrer" to a "Oberstfuehrer" or from a "Haupthelfer" to a "Oberwachtfuehrer"

6.) What is the value of a medal with swords, and of the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> class with swords? Joerg Kalies said me, that he sold about 5 years ago a Medal with envelope + swords (+ extra envelope) for 400 DM (~ 200 Euros).

7.) I know that someone only need to add swords on the ribbon. Are there tips, how can I see what is a "fake" and what is a "original" Medal or 3rd Class with swords? The ribbon from the 3rd class of my friend is "sewn".

8.) I hope that somebody could help me, thank you, and excuse my bad English.

Hi Koj,



this award was only given to non-Wehrmacht persons, so the circle of possible recipients is really very small. DRK would be possible but I think DRK guys would more stay in the Reich and Wehrmacht Sanitäter would do the job at the front.



It should be worn directly after the KVK.



Until now I have not seen any documented one; no REAL medal bar and just one probably REAL ribbon bar.



Without a watertight documentation I would put every piece as fake. Sounds hard but it is like this.

Hi Daniel,
thank you for your post and informations. In the grouping of my friend is a ribbonbar, and the social welfare award with swords is after the KVK.....
Have you got a picture of the ribbonbar with swords?
Do you remember what "type" of swords on the ribbon bar was? The same type of swords as that from the KVK/FKE (Hindenburgcross) ?

I dont have a pic of that bar. I just remember that I´ve seen one which was probably original.
Would looooove to see a pic of Your mentioned bar.
The swords on the ribbon bar should be the same style than the others.

The ribbonbar is with : The KVK with swords - Social Welfare with golden Swords - Ostmedal.
Also there is a photo of the recipient, the Social Welfare Award 3rd Class with swords, the Ostmedal and the KVK 2.Class with swords, all in the same condition, and all ribbons are "sewn".
The swords on the ribbon of the 3rd Class are identical with that from the catlouge from "Joerg Nimmergut".

Now, the grouping. I bought it for 325 Euro.
Fake swords? I don´t know?! I have never seen an original, but the price of 325 Euros is ok, because the 3rd Class and the other Medals are OK!

That all looks quite believable to me, just going by gut feeling.

That looks good to me.
Perfect would be a pic where he wears his awards but I have a good feeling here. So this would be the 2nd Volkspflege award with swords I see.
