I picked up this packeted Westwall medal yesterday from a friend who is selling part of an old collection. Unfortunately the collection suffered from poor storage conditions and humidity seems to have badly affected this late war zinc medal. Despite this I am pleased to have gotten this packet, it is maker marked for Orth and the designation of the award is pasted on the front. I imagine this packet originally was intended for a different award and then was repurposed for the Westwall medal, does anyone recognize what this packet was originally for? I welcome any input on this.

Indeed, a lot of the time they are Ost medals or even the odd KVK, too. I personally think this is a nicer acquisition to have than the actual designated packet proper!
