Sports Badge? markings

i think this is a sports badge.

do the markings look good on the reverse side?

also does this look like an original? Ive never seen these in person before, so i havnt a clue as to the value. Whats the most i should pay for this example?

Yes, this is an SA sport badge. Maybe somebody tell you than it´s a gilder version, but I think It´s a bronze badge. Lettering is ok, and the maker is a rare one, but people likes the numbered shamples from the first issue specially.
Condition is not the best and I think the catch is missing. So price must be lower than a good one. You can get one like this in perfect condiction for 40 euros/$50.

This looks like a bronze one to me. My price guide values this particular maker at €60 so with the broken catch and outward appearence the seller may not be that overpriced at $75.

You should be able to pick up a nice affordable one intact though.

The maker is not a rare one - on the contrary, he was one of the biggest manufacturers of SA Sport badges type 2 (and Berg & Nolte)
