    Ehrenkreuz für Hinterbliebene

Just picked up my first Hindenburg cross!!

This type was presented to the next-of-kin

Never really fancied collecting these before but after seeing some of the members collections they really appeal!

Very nice Nick. Magnetic I assume?

      G. & L. L. = Gebrüder Lange Lüdenscheid

      Kind regards

        Hi Nick & Pierce,

Looks like a nice cross. However, I do not think the "G.& L. L." logo is to Gebrüder Lange. The use of an ampersand between the "G" and the "L" implies that this is two last names, not Gebrüder Lange (which means "brothers Lange" or "the Lange brothers"). "Gebrüder & Lange" would be like saying "brothers and Lange" and it does not make sense. I would agree that it probably is a Lüdenscheid-based firm, but one that is still unknown.

        Best regards,
        Tom

Good point Tom, that would not exactly be grammatically correct.

          Best regards

                Hi Nick,

Gebrüder Lange was a Lüdenscheid firm that was in existence during the Third Reich Period. However, you will not find them on the Lieferant or LdO lists. They did have an RZM license as a metal insignia manufacturer and used the RZM code number M1/124.

                Best regards,
                Tom
