I have never seen a fake hindy but I think im doing it right now.

Non magnetic, the nines looks horrible, strange mm.

There are many makers to this award so it can by some strange variant but I doubt it very much.

I do not know enough about these Widow Crosses to say if this one is genuine or not. This is not a maker mark I can find straight away. There were non-magnetic versions of these made as far as I know.

If anyone was going to fake these crosses it would make sense to fake the Widow's Cross!

        Hello Konstantin,

Strange marking to find on a Hindenburg Cross. I located this Rudolf Karneth General Assault Badge with the same strange marking, posted by Frank Heukemes in 2004. The posted General Assault Badge looks like an original to me but with a spurious marking.

Here is Frank's comments about the badge:
"And what about III/14? See attached pic!?! What are your opinions? Good badge, funnymark? Pic doesn´t show the full MM, but III/14 is what the dealer said."

And here is the link to the actual thread (check post #7):

If it is a good mm, this guy are going to love it. He has 221 different mm´s on hindys but not this one.

I see nothing wrong with it. It seems everybody that had a metal working shop made these. Compare the dates to some of those listed on that site and you will find simular dates.

One place to start would be to Black light/UV light the ribbon... Does it glow???

              That is my suggestion.

              Thank you, Scott

Good cross IMHO. You can find this mm in the makers list. As far as I know this is the only maker known for the nonmagnetic widows. Anyway there are some doubts about the period of production (wartime or not) - there are no other types of Hindenburgs with such mm.

It is pleasant to hear opinion of the colleague-fellow countryman! - On Russian "Sammler" stated doubt concerning this brand on the widow.
Thanks a lot, dear colleagues who have taken part in discussion. Your opinion is a lot of for me means.
                    Yours faithfully Konstantin.
