Looks like a well-worn veteran's organizational pin. Clearer photos of the front and back might help determine authenticity.

Check Pg. 191 #9639b (NSDMB) HEERING & HUSKEN "HANDBUCH der ABZEICHEN DEUTSCHER ORGANISATIONEN 1871-1945"

Should be Gold, for the "Marinebund" (Naval vets.) definately was such pins....but would need to see the back & pin....can't tell much from the front alone!

This is a copy, no "notch" in the wreath at the top.

                  Hello guys,

Wow! So there are real pins similar to the one posted. Sorry about the "fantasy" statement. I have never seen one before. But the one that started this thread is still a fake, in my opinion. To say that this thing is crude, is an understatement. I've tried to enlarge the image a bit, but the detail gets a bit fuzzy.

                  Best regards,
                  Tom

yes I would agree, its crude compaired to the one in the book. The original looks to have a smaller eagle much more detailed.

One look at that pin plate should tell you all you need to know.

Here's an original. It's not as bright as it looks, that's due to the glare of the scanner.

                              cheers
