By these photos looks like original zink silver WB of 30 maker. Could you send close up photos of the maker mark and swastika?

I agree with Sergy, by the looks of the photos, it looks just like my silver and black (yes I said black thanks to Herr Register for the beauty ) solid back 30's

What makes you think it is gold? ANy closer shots of the gold on it?

I will post close ups later today. I think it was gold because in the areas that could not be touched (in the dimples, arms of swas, around catch) there is a yellow shade and doesnt look at all like it could be silver. Also it is smaller is size compared to me 2 other SWB's.

I know he photo and light don't do the badge any favours but this in my opinion is a genuine late zinc 30......silver or gold I can't tell.

I thought it was fake cuz I had Bill Shea look at it and said it had the wrong pin and catch. I do not think its gold. The remainder of the wash definately has a yellow tint to it.

I hate to say this but Bill is wrong...
The Hinge and catch set up for 30 should be just like yours when zink.
When tombak it should be like the underneath example.
BTW....this is an unmarked 30
Bill probaly just thought that ALL 30's should be like this example.
The thing i do not care for although I may be wrong is the line running out from the catch area.

I agree...that line does raise some questions??? SO whats the verdict......Gold??? or Silver???

It is difficult to say about the badge nearly without finish. By these photos it looks like original silver grade WB with some yellow patina in places.

Even thought its smaller than my 2 other SWB's? Did they make them different sizes? Well im glad to find out that I have a real SWB than a fake GWB!!!!
