    Ahh the raised dot zinker. Never liked them. I always considered those as a fake as I have seen them with both suspension setups.

    btw the Fuhrer and Fatherland, 1978 edition is full of well documented fakes.

      One more nail in the coffin for this one. I do not think any original was maker marked as the make is unknown for the medal.

      Never see the medal marked have seen the odd L/58 on the ring which were post war Souval

        The Cross is shown in the wartime sales catalog of Steinhauer & Luck, so apparently that firm made them during the war.

            As a side note and not relevant to the pictured medal, some information on the War time use of L/58 by Souval from an excellent article by Gordon Williamson in the Summer 1997 issue of The Military Advisor.

            It is well known that Souval also used his LDO number on post war fakes as byterock so correctly indicates
