I have a pair of jewish "star of david" (silver?) pins that were included in an authentic collection of WWII german items......This collection has not seen the light of day for 50+ years...a true closet find.....The previous owner was a german immigrant and brought these items with him from the homeland post war....my questions are; has anyone seen pins like these before?, were these POW pins, or?....any help is appreciated. thank you, Frank Davis.

The pins are probably not directly related to WW2 or Third Reich period. The German immigrant just bought a box of badges/pins/jewlery and these were already there for years. I really doubt and (allied or soviet jewish?!) POW would bother making these, not to mention the risk German guards would find them. Pins are probably before WW2, and they are maybe not jewish, but masonic symbol - as Darell mentioned, there's also a masonic pendant (triangle) and masons also use Star of David as one of their simbols. Actually, i see at least two or three masonic items there - the brass triangle with saw edges is surely masonic, and maybe the grass item in the far bottom right corner too.Comment

The blue enamel shield "Parachute" pin also looks to be a "Postwar" pin....so this lot isn't exactly "untouched"....The type of pin mount appears 1890s-1920s on the Jewish Star pins....very well may be Masonic, almost definately nothing to do with Germany or the Holocaust IMO.

John, The blue "parachute " pin is definately a post war item and did not come with the collection....the riker frame that is in the photo is a culmination of different collections...the focus was to be on the silver-colored jewish (star of david)star pins.
Thank you for your input, I appreciate it.......There were a few of the masonic (oddfellow) badges, pins, medals? that were in the frame with the stars, as noticed, from the original collection. There are many more.
In the collection that the pins/ masonic badges came out of were included the "norwegion legion " patches I sold earlier as well as the SA cap eagle patches......The masonic stuff ranges from the mid 1800's to early 1900's and is all very cool, yet unknown to many.......All knowledge of these that is shared with me is, of course, very very appreciated.....I'm just learning (at 62).
