Parade Medal Bars Poll

Hello fellow TR aficionados,

I couldn't figure out how to start a poll so I figured I would open this thread..

The question is:

What percentage of Third Reich Parade Medal Bars are no longer in possession of their original owner or their families and are now in the collector market?

Collector Market = Either in collectors hands, for sale etc.

imho that is impossible to say and might also differ per medal/award.

Superrare awards with only a few made might be easier to answer by judging how many are known in collections, medals of which millions were made and handed out will be very hard to estimate. Also many pieces that have been in collections for decades are changing hands ampong collectors, this does not give a very good idea of how many awards are still with the family.

It is a tough on... I really don't know either.. I am trying to guess something like do we think that we have only seen about 25% of the medal bars out there or are we seeing about 75% out there....

You are correct there are many variables... IE I have often wondered what happend in East Germany. Did people destroy their Parade Bars or did they just hide them well during the Soviet days of influence.

Definitely a question that would get you thinking but unfortunately I do not think there is any way of knowing this.
