Strange Memel

Hi All, I noticed this memel medal thats maker marked 14 on the ring .I've never heard of such a thing.I went through the archived threads on the memels and nothing has been mentioned of a 14 stamped makermark on the ring.The eagle looks like it's been shot up with steroids.I've never seen such a buffed eagle on any flower war medal.One last thing and not to get crotchety but the guys tackle and berries on this thing is more prominent than I've seen on any memel.Bizzare.

I see they made the effort to be uniform with the well known slanted G but then on the front they go totally original and display two action heros and a bloated eagle. I'm still stumped by the stamped 14 makermark.

Definately a fake. Reminds me of the replicas N. Morigi sells.
The stamped ring is probably there as a selling point. I cannot say for certain that original rings were not marked but I have not encountered any.

I agree .I think the 14 stamp is a ploy in hoping the buyer thinks its a unique varient .
