WETTERKAMPF DER 24. DIVISION FLANDERN Metal

Has anyone ever seen this metal? Wetterkampf translates to "competition"

This is something I found at the bottom of my bin when pulling out some ribbons to get ready for Tom's new book "Parade Medal Bars of the Third Reich"

Doesn't appear to be have any mounts, loops or anything.

FYI - In 1941 The German 24th Infantry Division was:
April = France
May = Back to Poland
June through end of year they were in Russia.

Any comments would be helpful... Google didnt bring up anything.

Hello Scott,

The 24. Infantry Division was actually in Schelde- East Flanders Province, Belgium from August 1940 to April 1941.

Nice piece with great patina! This was probably meant to go on some sort of award plaque.
