    war merit medal

    hello, i am new to the forums. my grandfather has passed down some german items and I was wondering if anyone can appraise this war merit medal.

    also, does anyone know why i cant post in the for sale section? it wont let me.

    Hi Dave,

    Welcome to the forum! You have to be a paying ""Association" member to post in the e-stand. Your photo is massive, I had to adjust my zoom level to see the entire photo!

    Your medal is the War Merit Cross 2nd Class. It appears to be the early bronze kind, but is missing the jump ring unfortunately.

      It´s a war merit cross, not medal and you cant sell in e-stand because you are not a paying member.

      What´s that strange thing poking out on top of the nine o`clock arm?

              Hello,
              Good luck, it will be a tough sell. The medal is very common and your example is damaged (there also looks like additional damge to on the side). The riboon and the ring are a big part of the award.
