    Afrika Campaign medal - Zink

    Hello guys.

I bought this German/Italian Campaign medal when I was traveling in US few days ago.
I got home today and took a closer look at this one with my tools.

I always study before buy but this is the second time in my 8 year of collecting that I buy new item for my collection before I study.
I would have to hold me to that rule this time.

After close look at this medal I have decide to return it to the seller (It came with 1 month inspection time to return).
I wanted a Afrika medal with ribbon but I found that out quickly that ribbon is a reproduction.
The ribbon glow big time in UV light and it has a harder touch than the original ones.
That is the reason that i want to return it.

I´m still not sure about the medal itself. I have seen helpful threads here on WAF about Zinc types.
The lines on the sides gives me a bad feeling. Details looks soft on some palaces. From the figures view, is there a trace after bronze color on the side? (around one and three a clock) What you think guys? A help would be a appreciate.

    Here are few pictures.

Sorry guys.. Wrong scale on the weight in post number #4.

Here is the right one in Gramms.

It looks like a cast copy, IMO and the seam around the edge is evidence of this.

                Regards,

                Jerry

                  Thank you Jerry.

That is what I thought, I was going to return medal because of the ribbon. It seems that this medal is also a bad one.

                  More comments are welcome
