As far as I know, in the bottom on a reverse of a medal is not a marker mark stamp , but Hanisch Concee initials (HC) - Berlin sculptor, who designed this medal.
I have another Memellandes medal, on which the ring is a marker mark stamp (similar to number 10).

I think the second one isn't bad but ground dug or just a bad stored piece.Until so far in havent seen a repro memel with the initials on the bottom rim.

ground dug ? And how do you explain dark color ?

I just dont think its bad because of the colour colour can change on ground dug piece's.

Maybe you can point out things that are bad on this piece accept colour the slanted g and the m look good

Ok why i think it is a fake?

Color, connection between rings, maker mark - never saw this type and it is marked from really strange angle, never saw this angel before on mm on any medal at all

There is the possibility the makers mark might have been added by someone.

It also has the designers initials H.C. at the base of the reverse.

Colour of medal could be a reaction to being in the soil for any length of time.

Acidic ground maybe.

So IMHO it's a good one.
