    Unknow medal (GdPzt Kirchner)

    Hi,

What is the medal that Kirchner is wearing on his right pocket? Slowakian Order of Prince Pribina?

    Cheers,

    Jaime.

I don't think it is the Order of Prince Pribina....not really sure what that is.
His on-line biography gives no clue either.

falermilit is quite correct the above is a bad copy or the Order of Prince Pribina

I think you are referring to medal on the left breast in this photo

I do not think it is that order of Price Pribina as it was and still is in a Civill award not military in nature.

The few awards I know of where to people like Pope Pius, von Ribbentrop

However the newly minted KC holder does have the 'Military Victory Cross' most likely first class

              Hello Jaime!
General Kirchner is wearing Slovak badge.
I know this badge is named Fast Division Badge (in Slovak language "odznak Rýchlej divízie" acronym - RD). Many of German officiers recived RD badge as a gift in memory of campaign against Soviet Union.

Yes Jaime, just like that. RD badges was made of different metals directly at the front. They were not produced in the State Mint Kremnica. RD badge in your picture is made of aluminum. There are pieces made of bronze which are nickeled and good looking pieces made of soft alloy having a clasp. Good looking pieces was gifted (awarded) to Slovak, German, Romanian... officers.
