What is the Medal in the middle? Thank you for your help. JME

Hello Jurgen,

It is the Prussian Merit Cross for War Aid. It was instituted in December of 1916 and awarded until 1924.

Is it possible to have a 40 Year Faithful Service Decoration without the 1914-18 Honour Cross?

In the case of this medal bar I would assume a civil servant that did not take part in WW1 in any shape or form and then got awarded the Prussian War Aid Cross between 1919-1924....this possible?

Why would be faithful cross connected with hindy - hindy is military cross, is not it ? I think it is ok

The war supporter cross from WW1 made him/her elegible for a noncombatant hindy. He/she would have had to apply for it.

but how you find it was a war supporter ? Civilian faithful cross can be earned in factory for example ?

Correct- the middle award would have made him elegible for a NC Hindy.

I guess for that matter he should have the 25year cross on there as well?

Not an unheard of combination though I have seen it before with the 25 not just the 40.

Only one Treudienst-ehrenzeichen was permitted to be worn ie. the highest. It was, however, allowed to be worn with one other Wehrmacht-Service Award.
