    A real Afrikakorps Medal bar

I want to show a real Afrikakorps medal bar.
The EK2 and the Valore medal where from the old owner polished but the bar is still an original and rare example.

    Best greetings

    Timo

      Hi Timo,

I had seen this on Zeige's auction site recently. It is a great medal bar even with the strange colour the Sudetenland ribbon has went.

Congratulations to you if you have purchased it!

      Kind regards
      Pierce

        Hello Pierce,

yes the whole bar must the served in a bad storage. The ribbons are very strong faded and the medals must has a lot of patina. The old owner must have the silver surfaces cleaned.
I checked a lot of details at this bar in the forefront and backside and have no doubts about the authentity.

Is the Italian bravery medal named at all?

No, the medal have no engravings on the backside. This was not common for German soldiers that they became an engraving for the medals. I saw only a few medals for German airplan crews which had only the name engraved without date and location like for Italians ones. An this medals were all without "zecca".

In my posession thereĀ“s a an another Valore Militare medal with "zecca" which is simply engraved with "Derna 42". I think the veteran had engraved it for remembrance in Afrika during or after the war. I will post this medal in another thread.
