    Ring

Does anyone have any info on this ring? The photos were given to me to research but I can't find anything like it. I am starting to think that it may be a fantasy piece.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area.

    Any help would be great

i vote for fantasy Piece, There is question why would soldier put DAK 1941 on the ring if it was an original item.

By their nature rings are unique as someone could have had this made up in a bazaar in North Africa to reflect their DAK service in 1941. Personally I see no problem with date if it is commemorating service time there. Bottom line is that with most rings that have no direct provenance you are unlikely to find out if it is contemporary or not.

                Ring shown below

We just found a ring with a faceplate very similar in design, but not exact, to this rihg. It has the swastika in the same place, DAK 1941 the same, with a more stylized palm tree. The faceplate looks almost commercial, kind of etched. It has the same kind of (fronds?) in the corners, and a smaller but very similar (fronds?) emblem on the upper sides. The "ring" part is pretty crude, but has T800 inside it.

We know this ring was from the right time, and was in the possession of a WWII veteran.

Does anyone know any more info about this ring?

Maybe another possible original Dak ring. T800 is the correct stamping for these rings. Please post pics of it.

Why is a date on a ring questionable? It would seem to be a very natural, logical thing to do for a soldier picking up a memento for time served in a foreign country.
