Bulgarian Merit Medal Entry in Soldbuch

This medal was entered into my soldbuch, but I cant find any information about it.

I am trying to find the requirements to receive this award, and why it would have been awarded to this luftwaffe flak man.

Can any of you help me?

I might be in the wrong forum, I wasnt sure where to post.

    Thanks,
    Swayne

That wasnt what I was really asking though.

I was asking about the award, I cant find any information about the award, its requirements, or anything else. Why would the man receive this award?

        Thanks,

          ..

          Swayne,

It was not uncommon for members of the LW or other branches of the Wehrmacht to receive such an award if thye were somehow engaged in this theater of war i.e. the Balkans.

Flak units providing defense for AA purposes or in Rumania defense of oil field received foreing decorations.

While not overly common I have seen these awards and have them listed in Soldbuchs I own to other mombers of the LW.

fyi: post it in the Wehrpas/Soldbuch Forum I am certain other members have seen these entries.

          Regards

          Jeremy

            Stab/Flak-Regiment 201 (mot.):

            # 1.41 to Bulgaria with I./6, I./19 and I./23, supporting VIII. Fliegerkorps
            # 4.41 supporting the 12th Armee with I./6, I./14, I./19, I./23 and le.77

It would be advisable to show all pages of the soldier's book.

it is one of 2 different medals. Obviously the company clerk did not have a german translation of the Bulgarian (cyrilic) award doc., so he describes it as 'Bulgarian bronze medal with crown". so, what it is probably depends upon who the chap was-specifically his rank! My guess is the merit medal on war ribbon.
