Is this type ribbon bar with wide ribbons (7/8 of an inch) a pre-45 manufacture? Is so, were they worn on any particular type of uniform. Thanks, John.

you must turn it to proper place. EK is first.
Anyway ribbons are messed. it should be as far as I know EK II, winterschlacht, austra medal, prague bar and anti-comunism medal

EK Collector is absolutely correct about the order.

At some point in time somebody either replaced a ribbon or this is a put together.

Other than that these wide bars are period, I have had several in both 2, 3 & 4 place. this is the 1st 5 place I have seen.
        Regards,
        Chris

If you do be careful, as the tabs can be extremely delicate and might break, and from the looks of it, a couple only have 1 tab left as it is.

Just swap the Ost with the Czech and the order will be correct.

            Good luck.

It is of course quite possible the ribbon bar is exactly the way it was put together in WWII. I have a photo of a Major Wilhelm Staudt (DKiG holder) wearing his M36 tunic and his ribbon bar has the awards in the following order:

              EK2 / 4Yr LS / Austrian Occupation / Czech Occupation / WMC 2nd w-swds / Romanian Anticommunist Medal

Yes, the order is not correct but that is the way it was. Why? Who knows.

With german precision almost not possible. Just why would soldier wore sudetland medal before austria medal, does not make a sense

I have seen pictures, mostly officers that have there ribbon- and medal bars against regulations, It´s not common but it happens.

Last one I saw was in International Medal Colector magazine (Nr.3) GFM Erhard Milch, he had all 3 flower war medal in his medalbar against regulations, for an example.

John, if you want to move them, go ahead, it´s your bar. But be careful.

I´m talking about for example, medal bar with all trhee flower wars medal on same bar. It was not allowed.

Like EK-Collector was saying that "With german precision almost not possible"

                          It was possible

                            Hi,

As Tim has stated regulations were not always followed. I have medal bars in my collection that are out of order. The Germans were not perfect and regulations were sometimes ignored or misunderstood.

One can also find ribbon bars with ribbons which are not exact matches to the ribbons on the cooresponding medal bar. This occurs with respect to foreign awards. From what I have seen, uniform tailors who did not have an exact match for a ribbon used as close a match as they could find. This is especially true on obscure foreign award (a ribbon bar I have uses the Eastern people award as a ribbon for the ribbon bar - the award on the medal bar is the Order of Mehdi).

Somebody forgot to tell Himmler about that.
Allowed or not, it sure looks good.
