Hello,
My father was away in London recently and while there he passed by a militaria shop and knowing that I collected third reich medals decided to buy something for me as a present. My father not knowing anything about the hobby and not even knowing the spanish had the "Spanish Blue Division" fighting on the eastern front got fed the frozen meat locker story by the dealer.
To cut a long story short my father returned with a "Spanish Blue Division Medal Cased" This is what I got.
As you can see in the photo-graphs regarding the case there is a piece of paper with spanish writing on it, this was stuck onto the front of the box, this can be seen from the box retaining its green colour where as the rest of the box has lost the colour. I think it reads something about the battle fought in the east.
The Spanish Blue Division Medal is actually an eastern front medal with a clasp on it although this was given out to Spanish Soldiers.
Is the clasp an original spanish clasp?
Was the piece of paper printed by a spanish soldier who had the box and stuck it on it then just put the eastern front medal in it.
