Russian Tank Destruction Badge? Panzer?

This came from a US vets estate. I have never seen another like it. To me, it looks like a tank destruction badge. Could it be a variation for destroying a Russian tank? The star makes me think this...

Anybody ever seen one?

I have one also and I would love to know what it is. I was told that the piece is French when I bought it but I do not know how certain the seller was.

Lots of fakes of this badge about easily spotted as they are usually a light stamping with poor details in silver metal.

I cann't remember if it was a Breast badge or cap badge

Worn by all members of the Tank corps if I am not mistaken.

Not a qualification or award badge more like an isignia.
