        Hi Scott,

I agree with Chris, both are ok.

Am I correct in assuming that the pin is attached the wrong way arround with the pressure foot facing upwards. Seen this on a couple of other badges with original pins but it's strange to see it on a badge with a replacement pin.

Philippe is right and this cross my mind too, perhaps the pin is not repaired or a replacement. Am i right Scott?
A better and close pic of the GAB will help.

Exactly Chris, although the pin looks a little strange it's not the type of error you make when replacing just one pin. Even if you were to make it you would correct it. It's the type of error you make when assembling hunderds of pins and you don't really care any more.

Here is a picture of a JFS IAB with such an incorrect assembled pin. Much rarer than left side facing catches if you ask me .

                Hi Scott,

Like the others, both badges look like nice originals to me. Re the main pin on the GAB, I doubt it was originally constructed that way. It may be the original main pin, but the fact that the bend at the hinge end is out, not in, to me suggests that the hinge pin (the pin holding the long main pin to the hinge) has popped out at some stage (not uncommon) and someone has put the main pin back on the wrong way around.

                Regards
                Mike K

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Philippe, What are the chances that badge was made on a Friday Afternoon, on Payday at 5pm?

                  Very well put.
