    Ribbon bar precedence question

This weekend I came across a 15/10 year NSDAP ribbon bar that looked to have bogus devices (90% sure they were painted). Just wanted to double check, though – the war merit medal is supposed to be to the left of NSDAP long service ribbons, right?<O

    Hi Chris,

Yes, the KVK ribbon sould come before, or to the left of any Long Service ribbon.

Here's my 10/15 LS bar with KVK for example, hope it helps-

Even this one should be before any LS ribbon.

You don't find the 3rd class ribbon on bars very often, but it does show up once in a while, as in this example of mine, placed well before the Polize 25 LS ribbon-

Cool... That's basically what I had thought, but I was trying to count up how many strikes that bar had against it.

          Thanks,

If the NS device is painted (usually the "bronze" or "gold" one, since the forger had an endless supply of original silver 15s, once upon a time)

The KVM... migrated. Originally it was specified to follow the Hindenburg Cross ( ) but was later nudgged forward. So it depends on time period, and period error where you will ever find one.

This one was 1914 EK, Hindenburg Cross, KVM, NSDAP 15, NSDAP 10, Sudetenland. The bronze one was the painted device this time.
