    Ribbon ID

    Hello,

Could anybody help me with this ribbon?

    Looks like: Kvk2 - Winterschlacht - ? - ? - Sudetenland/Tjechien - Spain - ?

    Thanks in advance,

    JW,

Of course it's hard to be sure when it's a B&W picture....but looks to me like:
    KVK 2nd cl. w/swds.
    Ost medal
Long Service Award w/out a device
Social Welfare medal or 3rd Cl.
    Sudetendland w/Prague Castle bar
    Spanish Campaign medal
Unknown.....(but probably another Spanish Award) w/swords. (Could be almost any foreign award....looks like it has black edge stripes as do some Spanish awards....)

Usually Long Service awards without a device would be Polizei 8 Yr., SS 4 & 8 Yr., RAD 4 & 12 Yr., or Pre-Wehrmacht.....but sometimes regular Army, Luftw., KM either didn't have or lost thier devices.....

    Hope this helps....
    John G.

The 6th one looks like the Olympics ribbon to me.

Maine is right I think. Wasn't the Spanish Militar cross worn with swords?

I also thought it might be an Olympic Games Commemorative....but normal placement would put that before the Sudetenland medal.... (the "flower"Campaign awards were "always" last amoung German awards- foreign awards would, of course, come after them).

                Hi John,

I have to disagree slightly. The West Wall medal comes after the Flower Wars medals therefore not making them "always last". The correct place for the Olympic Games Medal would be after the Flower Wars medals according to the 1940 and 1945 regulations (with 1945 regulations being in effect from 1942 i think).

The Olympic Games Decoration 1st or 2nd class was supposed to be worn before the Flower Wars medals according to the same regulations...but i have seen contradicting bars with these ribbons on making it difficult in telling if the ribbon represents a Decoration (without device) or Medal...for example this group in my collection belonging to Blood Order holder and General Major, Julius von Bernuth. The Olympic Games Decoration 2nd class is correctly mounted before the West Wall on the medal bar but not so on the ribbon bar.

                Kind regards
                Pierce

Thanks for the photo. I was wondering if this was SS.

I would say Bulgarian order of Bravery award 4th class in last place.
