Dr Fritz Todt cased - Opinions Please

Hi all, I would like to seek opinions on the following badge. I will try to post many pictures of the badge. First off, the unusual thing about this badge is that it appears to be a 1st type (with the date 8244 and serial number 120 on the rear) however, it has the naming Dr. Fritz Todt on the front instead of Dr Ing Fritz Todt Preis like you would normally find on a 1st type. Next, the badge seems to be made out of silver with 800 marked under the pin, however, most references state that the first type was only made in Aluminum. The badge seem to be very well made and had the correct type pin system, however, the pin seems to be a little flatter near the hinge section. Also the case has a magnetic hinge and catch and seems to be well made. The miniature is marked L/21 on the reverse. This badge is unusual in that it does not seem to follow the 1st patterns documented in many references. Any opinions, comments, or feedback would be most appreciated. The prizes were made in silver, fine zinc and was reported for the highest grade, real gold. Very few of the gold class was ever awarded and had to be awarded by Dr. Ley and approved by the Technical Department of the Party. It was accompanied by a cash award of 50,000 RM. With the war going very bad for Germany it is doubtful if many of the real gold awards were made. However, control of the production of this award was not restricted as bad as some NSDAP awards and private purchase firms and tailor shops offered the three trades with a washed finish. Officially the grades were gold, silver and "steel". The "Steel" was really sometimes real silver with a burnish finish. The majority were produced in zinc with a washed finish. A documented first issue is rare indeed. The first pattern was produced in aluminum.

Thanks for the comments so far... Another one of the differences between the two cased pieces is definitely the interior of the bottom of the case - it is more a pure black base and there is no outline of white like you see in a lot of the german medal cases (black goes right to the dark blue edge - no white in between....) Also, it still unusual to me that this is a dated and serial numbered piece and the front is Dr. Fritz Todt and not Dr. Ing Fritz Todt Preis... anyone else seen this before... Thanks again - Dave

blue covering is also a different pattern, sort of reminds me of the SS 4 yr medal case pattern...
