My \self I am not likening the story of this medal bar.
I think the spange to the IC is a latter addition or at worst it is a put together bar.
The combination without the Spange is ok just (you must assume if was brought back to the colours just after getting the 25 year cross) in time to get the west wall.
One would think a fellow in his 40s would not be in a combat unit to get the ICII.
These tab bars can be easily messed with...devices added to enhance the price etc... The Faithful Service ribbon at the end should be BEFORE the West Wall medal but period mistakes did happen.
From the photos i am unsure if the EK2 Spange, West Wall and Faithful Service devices are good. Can you post better pictures please?
Here is a ribbon bar in my collection. Similar combination of awards but the one i have is just not as decorated!
Perhaps these belong to the same guy .....he got his Faithful Service Award in 1940s along with his EK2 Spange!
From what i can see my opinion is the West Wall device on the bar in question is good. But definately better straight on shots are needed of this bar to confirm.
Thank you for posting additional pictures. I believe that all the devices are good but whether or not they were originally on the ribbon bar i do not know.
The EK2 device does not look great but i am hoping for you that that is due to the flash on the camera, which sometimes distorts the detail. I have a similar EK2 spange device with the "narrow headed eagle" on a ribbon bar in my collection.
Could i ask that you post a straight shot of the reverse? Are there any scratch marks on the reverse?
I suspect an original thats' been improved, but I might well be wrong. devices are not my strong area.
The second medal is the Baden bravery silver medal.
this is perfectly plausable-especially for someone who was a WW1 volunteer and later went into the pioneers etc. as a recalled senior NCO or officer. I have documents to a chap who was a senior ArztdR (in the Foot Guards no less) which are similar.
BUT...any time I see a West wall device OR an EK2 second award device I automatically think "fake", because they are so heavily misused (and have been).
This is one for Rick Lundstrom to paw.
