    Maker marked ribbon bar

Well I got a pretty rough 10yr NSDAP ribbon bar the other day. As I was scanning it I noticed what appeared to be a maker mark on the reverse (under the rust). I cleaned it slightly, and it looks to be a "TZ" in a circle. This is the first one I have seen that is maker marked. Has anyone else encountered any? If so, lets see them....

Oh yeah, anyone have an idea what maker TZ would be?

Ok, I was a bit lazy and didn't search "TZ". Well after I did, I found a couple of threads where it was mentioned, but alas, no pics. I did find one thread showing a medal bar with the letters, but no one seemed to know who it was. So, I'll still throw it out there....any ideas on who?

      Hi Andy,

I think TZ is a manufacturers mark, similar to DGRM or DRP which you also see stamped on the reverse of the metal plates used in medal and ribbon bar construction. TZ always seems to be stamped at the pin-clasp.

Here are some of my own examples. The 4-place red cross bar at the bottom is stamped DRP. I also have a ribbon bar that has the maker's name and address stamped on the reverse.

      Kind regards
      Pierce

Nothing wrong with this one. I have one somewhere with the same maker. Jacques
