Can the Fakers be useful ?

A strange question right but bear with me for a minute,I've had this fake Young Cossack School Badge for a few years , it's a cast copy that I picked up in a lot of several items. But what is interesting about it is solid backed and has marks representing rivets. All the reference material I've come across says the original was hollow backed stamped metal. In Detlev catologue he goes as far as saying that so far originals found have only been stamped metal. So my question is that the fakers most likely used an original to make the casts from but their original was a 2 piece version with rivets holding the swords and eagle on to the wreath. So does this give any evidence that a second version actually existed?
Just something to think about on a lazy Sunday afternoon, what do you guys think?

PM. ,yes a interesting theory!..I have seen what claimed to be a original of the stamped kind in E. Europe. It belonged to a vet and was not for sale..
I have also seen near perfect reproduced examples of this pinback AND the type with the 2 loops in the back. It was explained to me that some postwar copies were made with the original tooling. After seeing the badges it has all but turned me off on ever aquiring one that I would be happy with.{ unless I can talk that vet. out of his! }. .
Would love to see a original 2 piece badge!!! , thanks , G.

I absolutely think fakers can be useful.

They make great moving targets when you are trying to sight in a new hunting rifle.
