As Heer collector of the Italian-German campaign I like the award documents for this medal too. In fact it was not very common that the soldiers became an award document or a simple certification. Mostly only an entry in the Soldbuch. But for the Luftwaffe it´s easier to find an award document as for the Heer. The most scarce document-type for this medal ist the Italian one. I saw after over 5 years intensive searching only two. One of this is in my collection now.
@Matt
Can you show better pictures of the medal. Is this a variant without marking and designer name?
I see 10x as many Afrika cuff title award documents as these campaign medal documents. Nice backing for the framing job...looks like that textured felt matboard?

Andy,
it is a texture felt backing. I just thought it added something a bit different to the display. Medal wise it is the unmarked examples in the zinc type. It was in its original frame but was starting to yellow out and have some issues so I didn't really have a choice but to put it on archival materials. Wish it was in a bit better condition but I really love it as it is. Still has its original safety pin as well. I know I have some shots of the medal and its original frame around somewhere, will see if I can find them. These are much harder to find than the Afrika cuff title document by a long shot. Thanks for the kind words everyone. Matt
Did some searching yesterday and found the pics on the harddrive, all from old Detlev and weitze auctions i think, thought someone wanted to see these perhaps?

Very nice documents everyone. The one to "Georg Forster" was I believe part of an airgunner grouping that one of the site sponsers here broke up and sold everything individually.
