I PM'ed Christian about this bar. He says he obtained it from a friend of the family. There are certainly several unusual anomalies with it: order of ribbons, ribbon combinations, etc. While Speiss was awarded the Spanish MMI (second ribbon from left), I'm not aware of any LC member also earnng the Spanish Red Military Service cross (last ribbon on the bar)-- made more odd by the lack of a crossed swords device usually seen on that ribbon. The Bulgarian WWI Commerative Medal (third from left) is another oddity.

I've seen odd ribbon bars in period photos, so who knows about this one? It's certainly unique. If authentic, it's a steal for the price.

        Regarding the ribbonbar.
If the 3rd one is not the commemorative medal but the Military Merit Order and the last one not red cross but italian Crown Order it does fit perfectly.

Regarding the 3rd one, it must be the Bulgarian WWI commemorative medal. The Military Merit Order has a green-white-red-white-green ribbon, while the Bulgarian one a white-green-white-red-white-green-white one, unless the wrong ribbon was picked up to represent the MMO during the making of the bar.

And exactly that happened - as the military merit order was rarly given at all and therefor most tailors had only "similar" ribbons and not matching ones.
And it can't be the commemorative ribbon, as there is no other WW1 decoration at all.

And that is the key point. No WW1 service shown on the bar. Sometimes tailors had to make do with ribbons for obscure awards. You see this all the time on Imperial bars.

Better to question something if you are not sure then to let a bad one go thru.
