    Strange ribbon bar

    Hello all,

This one has two Oct. 1938 ribbons, can anyone shed some more light on this little guy?

Please let me know either way. Thank you.

Do Hello, is rare and has no sense to duplicate this Medal, perhaps should take its place Memeland, replaced it?

However is authentic that toolbar, but I don't see him explanation.

    Julio.

Some one at some time probably replace a missing or damaged ribbon.

Since it is the metal tab system, this is relatively easy to do.

        I agree with Erich.

Also the order is incorrect anyway...the Anschluss and Sudetenland ribbons should both come AFTER the 4 Year service ribbon. For example like on my ribbon bar which belonged to General Major a.D. Otto Schiel.

        Kind regards

          Hello there,

          So is this a post-war put-together bar?

            William,

I don't think the bar is a fake....the backing plate, ribbons and devices all look pre-1945. What most-likely hapened here was that someone messed about with this bar and removed one of the ribbons...then maybe someone else thought they would "fix it up"...who knows!

The tabs look rusty and can't be messed around with too much as they would break!

            Kind regards
            Pierce

not true, the tabs can be bent open and back again without breaking.

I think this is assembled post war with original parts. All the parts necessary to make this have been readily available for years. No telling how old the rust is- depends on what kind of atmosphere it was stored in.
