      What a load of.....

Amazing how people are willing to pay a "little" bit of extra for a nice bedtime story.

Snyder is an infamous peddler of junk and wild unsubstantiated stories.
When I see an auction from Snyder I press the back button.

The audacity of some dealers or does he deserve the name 'dealer'.

It is my understanding these were private purchase boxes, I'd like to know what rank he was when it was insituted and subsequently issued to him. High rank's had different boxes for these ???? Possible I guess. Not exactly an elaboration on the normal style of box encountered though.

There are numerous sizes, shapes, colours and coverings not to mention catch's on these boxes. I think they were issued in paper envelopes then the boxes bought by the recipient ?

The medal is just the bog standard one, not even an actual rare bronze made one by the looks Samantha so this price is very naughty.

I just wonder if thats a real buyer, here is an example of just four of my (excluding my black one) variations I have to hand at this moment in time.

The mottled one has a gold incuse line around the top surface of the lid, barely visible.....perhaps this is a General's too , this has no catch. The first box is an early example with a catch unlike the other two which are later ones.

There were presentation box styles........I'm dubious this is.

          Kind regards

          Marcus

Hello The two views of the 'box' are different boxes look at the rounded corners of the top pic compared to the bottom one and the catch.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Have a little compassion, I think the poor man has finally lost it.

Maybe he meant to write 94.99 and got a little preoccupied with the "9 button" . What do these sell for these days, when no being overpriced like this?

There is apparently a large enough pool of drooling imbeciles with lots of money to keep these dealers living well:

                      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=43446

It is obviously "clever" marketing to use the Snob Appeal pitch to this sort of moron because "it must be special if it costs a lot."

It seemed to work well for a Wehrmacht General's Eastern Front medal and other trivial items which sold for many times normal value. Remember that grouping on the e-stand?
