    Metal Breast Eagle

Not sure if this is the right forum to put this but I thought I would try it here. Does anyone have any opinions about this breast eagle? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, DEL PANFINI

                Hi Del,

I'm not sure on this one, looks weakly struck and that catch is a concern for me. Try posting it down further in the Uniforms & Insignia Forum for better opinions.

I would not buy it or have it in my collection. But thats just me and only my opinion.

Thanks for your replies. The reverse pin set up is not the kind that I have seen on these before but I thought it possibly could have been a late war variation. I would say it leans more toward a reproduction. Again thanks for your help.

                        Del,

The strike and catch bother me the most. Don't get hung up on the hinge type of setup. Here's an original and the hinge setup is similar, though you can see the catch is completely different, as is the overall quality of the strike.

If you have time, search in the Uniform & Insignia Forum for some reference examples.

                        Good luck!

Since we are on the subject

I have had this one in my junk pile for years and I did a search and found a few of these Eagles with this type catche sold on the e-stand. DO you guys think mine is deserving of moving from questionable to real. And are they Kriegsmarine summer tunic pins. Thanks
