    Miniatures

I would value your comments on this one, in particular the order in which the medals have been placed and the size of the supporting rings:

This strikes me as a set of unconnected miniatures mounted on a chain. I think it is a fair price for that (assuming they are decent originals).

These are so easy to mount and unmount that commenting on the order is practically meaningless. The order often appears "backwards" anyway e.g. correct order of precedence if you read right to left rather than left to right. This is because they could be worn pinned to a jacket lapel with the EK at the top and the others trailing downwards.

To return to the group in question, I don't know about a Red Cross medal appearing with a Social Welfare medal - it doesn't seem right, but I don't know the regs. The expected order would be EKII, KVKII, 1914-18 Cross, then the Social Welfare medal followed by the Red Cross medal (though I doubt they would appear together).

The attachments on the chain mean that a medal with a flat-on suspension loop attached doesn't require an additional ring. However, one with a side-on loop (like the EK in this group) needs another suspension ring to make it point the right way.

Some of the suspension rings look a bit big and the attachment messy, but that's just my opinion. And the Red Cross medal has got tangled so that the "reverse" picture shows the front again. I believe single-sided miniatures (like the KVK here) are OK.

Terry.I think James has summed things up well.
All of these medals have been 're-hung'. The large rings are incorrect for this type of chain.
Someone has made the chain up to look like that of a non-com military Dr/nurse/medic.
The combination of non-com 1914-18 cross and 1939 EK2 is unlikely.
The Social Welfare Medal superseded the DRK Medal - both should not be worn at the same time.
        The KVK1 looks repro.

Thanks Robin. I wanted to buy this but was not happy with various aspects of this. That confirms things for me. Cheers.

I agree with Robins comment on this, although the KVK looks ok IMO. The medals itself seem to be ok. But the combination is strange.

            best,
            Gerd
