Priority of mounting medals in Medal Bar?

I've been looking at buying a medal bar but noticed that the Long Service Medal came after the Flower War medals. According to Angolia's 'Fuhrer and Fatherland' decorations book and also the reprint of the 1943 book by Dr Heinrich Doehle (excuse spelling - I do not have the book with me!) the order of mounting is EK2, Eastern Front, Long service, Flower wars for example. I'm wondering if this is a recently made medal bar with original medals or did some people get their mountings wrong in the Third Reich - I know that if I tipped up on parade with my medals in the wrong order I'd have my head ripped off! I'm new to medal bars and would appreciate any comments.

    Regards,

    John

PS Is red felt the normal backing material?

All that you ever wanted to know

(MORE than you ever wanted to know, probably! )

    Wrong?

Yes... but what ELSE is on the bar?

I have OFTEN found circa 1939 medal bars with these in the wrong place. But by 1940, and with any WW2 decorations on there, all that confusion should have been cleared up.

If you go from that link into "Medal Bars and Related" and "Construction" sections you will see that red was the traditional "generic" backing.

Talking of priorities in medals, what about miniatures on a chain. Have you seen the group for sale in the Estand under "Third Reich Mini Group"?
