by the way under normal light there's no green tinge anywhere; appears sometimes when I do cropping and sharpening... again thanks for insights.

              Looks good!

I also like this medal. And the greenish spotting is nothing unusual for any copper-based alloy such as bronze or tombak. Over time, copper-based alloys will develop that greenish patina. It is actually a good indication of age/authenticity.

              Best regards,
              Tom

Perhaps nothing wrong with this one, but I saw many fake set with this maker.
If I were you I would post the packet to the Photos and Paper Items Forum.

I too have always been leery of these Carl Poellath packets. I felt that the paper used on these did not match up to the paper used on known originals. I especially never liked the ones having the town name misspelled: Schrobenhansen instead of the proper Schrobenhausen. However, Marcus Hatton had a laboratory analysis done on the paper and ink of numerous examples, both with and without the misspelled town name. According to the laboratory findings, it was concluded that the paper and ink are of the period.

Nowadays, these Carl Poellath packets are frequently found paired with the late-war zinc issue medals and modern ribbons. But the ribbon shown here in this thread looks good to me.

                              Best regards,
                              Tom
