    occupation medals - same mfr

Apparently the controversy on Memelland medal is ongoing judging from a thread today.
Well, here are the 3 occupation medals that are in reasonably good condition and these 3 also have the number "16" on each ring. The clasps are also the same.
If legit, what are the chances of having all 3 of same mfr in good condition?
    Thanks for any commentary.

At the risk of being jumped on.

I think the Memel is not good because of the curves in the legs of the M's amongst other things.

Again...............I have been Known to be wrong.

Same maker with a bogus mark. These are all "mask" fakes. Look at the faces.

                Hello Van,

Sorry to say they look like fakes to me as well. Run searches of Mask and Big Nose and you will see other repros that have been posted in past threads.

                Regards,

Forgot to mention that the #16 has been found on these in the past.

                      on "16" per George

Thanks. George, for your pic of "16". I can see that your example is incised whereas the examples on my medals are raised. Should I assume that this maker never varied from this format? If so, would this apply to all makers?
I have spent a lot of time trying to research these medals esp the Memel.
Do you know of the sourcing for the "mask" face being apparently the main criteria by the commenters in declaring these fakes? I see characteristics exceptions in some posted examples where the branches extend when some say they shouldn't. The "9"s are supposed to be closed. The forum sides shouldn't touch the rim and the "A" in MARZ should be smaller.
The medals I have of Czech and Memel are of bronze or tombak and not zinc and are die struck. The 'dirty' Anschluss medal, unmarked, came from a vet collection and is likely legit. Both Anschluss medals are exactly the same diameter but the "16" is slightly thicker and the ring is larger.
Are there any examples of Memel done by "16" or any sourcing stating that "16" did not make the Memel or even any other occupation medal?
I hope you don't take this as a challenge to your expertise. It just seems to me that there is still controversy regarding the Memel especially when reading prior postings by Speedytop.

Man Memelland medals are troublesome I already have a fake and I am trying to do as much homework as I can but with every topic I find on the internet it is not getting easier.

I to would like to know if maker 16 even made Memelland medals. *sigh* I really want one but a good one of course. Hopefully the one on the E-Stand now will turn out to be good.
