    Honor Goblets

    To all concerned,

As a collector of Luftwaffe Honor Goblets I would like to recommend that we start a data base for collectors that would help in reuniting the actual urkunde with the Goblet. Would it be possible for a member of the forum staff to consolidate the names submitted by collectors? I'll start the list with the following submissions:

OBLT Rudi Pflanz, 1./J.G. 2 'Richthofen' Wing man of Helmut Wick. RK 1.8.41. Early silver Goblet.

OBLT Hans-Karl Stepp, 7./Stuka-Geschwader.2 'Immelman', RK 4.2.42, OL 27.4.44. One of Rudel's commanders and helped design the 'Kanonenvogel'. Early silver Goblet.

OFW Rudolf Trenkel, 2./J.G. 52, RK 19.8.43. 137 aerial victories. Later Alpaka Goblet.

    WW1. LT Adolf Halbreiter, Flieger-Abteilung 31. KIA 1917.

I hope this helps to start some great dialog!

Hi Michael, as one who specializes in 'Honour goblets' I'm hoping that you may be able to help me identify this officer...

The link will take you to the thread with all the relevant information..

      Hi All,

This is a very good idea. I tried to find some items before, but had no luck. Here is what I have and would like to complete.

Unteroffizier Baptist AMTMANN. Have his Silver Goblet and document. Looking for his other award docs.

Unteroffizier Johann GROTTER. Alpaka Goblet. Have his grouping but the award document for the Bomber Clasp in Gold with flower pendant was missing.

Unteroffizier Gerhard PFARR. I have his grouping but the Goblet itself is missing.

Unteroffizier Thomas EICHHORN. I have his Alpaka Goblet but nothing else.

This is going to be worse than finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. But it also makes collecting so much fun I would appreciate any leads.

      Best regards,
      Al

        Goblets

Fantastic idea--and some fantastic pieces listed! I have only one:

Uffz. Hans Liskow--silver goblet awarded 7.7.41 (born 7.Feb 13, died 27. May 42). I have the goblet but nothing else. I would certainly like to purchase the document or any additional papers or other items for Liskow. I'm also trying to find out what unit he was with.

        Thanks,
        Erich

I am only interested in one Honour Goblet and that is the one of RKT Heinrich Paepcke. I only recently discovered that he was awarded the Honour Goblet. I did so in the following thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=26645

I was hoping that one of you could confirm this.

I do NOT own Paepcke’s Honour Goblet but like to of course. Otherwise I am interested in anything related to Heinrich Paepcke.

            Many Thanks,
            Pascal

Thank you François. This is getting very interesting because on the thread I mentioned it says 21 Sept 1942 as the date he received his Honour Goblet.

I do not know where your information comes from but if he did receive his Honour Goblet on 21 Nov. 1942 then this had to be posthumous because Heinrich Paepcke died on 17 Oct. 1942 !!!!

My 835 silver HG is to Leutnant Rudolf Schulz, an Observer in a recon. squadron. The goblet is dated March 16, 1942. But the Goering ehrenliste states that he received it on March 23, 1942.

I have been searching for this guy ever since I got this thing. But with a name like Rudolf Schulz, there are literally thousands of guys with that name. I even know a guard from Stalag 13 with that name.

From what I've read W.W. 1 Honor Goblets were not named to the recipient. Has anyone inspected one?

                        Goblets

That's correct, although I've seen one with an engraved plaque on the wooden base with the recipient's name. The WWI goblets themselves are not named.
If anyone has a copy of the book shown above for sale, I am looking for one!

                          WWI Goblet

                          USGI,

You are correct, WWI Goblets are unmarked with the exception of (Based on the type, I.E., early, late, or post WWI) silver proofs and the prussian war ministry acceptance stamp. However, the one in my collection came with the flight log book, soldbuch, and a number of letters to include a congratulatory letter for receiving the Honor Goblet for his first aerial vistory!

                            .

I have a silver Ehrenpokal named to a Oblt. Hans-Dietrich Nehrdich. The date is 23.3.1941. He was a pilot flying those HE111 bomber planes and died on 12.4.1941. He's burried in a mass grave in Italy, Motta St. Anastasia.
Any info or documents are welcome.

                            Thanks,

                            Kris.

                              Michael,

How can you tell a W.W. 1 goblet is post war, are they iron or silver? There is much being said in the Imperial section of this site about Imperial pilot badges. Some say the hallmarks moon 800 is pre-1918 some say crown moon 800. I would love to get your input on this, also your goblet with a group if it is pre-1918 I would love to see photos of the hallmarks if it is silver. I think your info could be the key to this mystery.
