Badge of the Croation/German ES Units

What is your take on this badge? Is it the silver issued wound badge since it is of bronze with silver runes? Please comment, Thanks Bill

      That's a rare badge.

The ES was the Croatian Nazi equivalent of the Allgemeine-SS.

There was a good article on the ES in an old 'Military Advisor' magazine, and plenty of info. in the David Littlejohn 'Foreign Legions' books.

I've seen a couple of these for sale in the last few years, and they usually make over £1000 GBP.

          Hello Bill,

Unmistakably an original badge of this rare unit. Possible that it is about a badge, version silver. Are your images regrettably of bad quality (have you a scanner ?). As indicated by Robin, to refer to the Military's Advisor article (M. Hugh Page Taylor) or more recently, an even more complete version of the aforesaid article (same autor), with photo, in Uniformi and Armi, n° 153.

          Cordial greetings.

          Polux

The ES Wound Badge is a different pattern.
