    Hi Alex,

Alas not a silver or gold, but I do have what I think could be a L 17 black wound badge.

There are no markings on it at all but it has the typical Wernstein style hinge and a small plate under the hook ! I'll post it when it's daylight again so as I can take a better picture.

    Kind regards,

    Marcus

      Alex,

Try doing a search for this maker of wound badges, there should be a couple of previous posts on this one. I was told this maker is a bit more rare than others in wound badges, so the maker's mark is something that might not be readily available.

      Good hunting!

        Hi,

In 1991 I visited a flea market in Hannover and found a box full of ten unissued L/17 black wound badges all in their original wrappers! I bought two of them and I still have one in my possession of which I have included some pictures.

        regards,
        DJ

            Hi Frank!

I don't mind at all, though others might be concerned on the maker's mark showing and any sudden onset of these flooding the markets down the road.

There is another style with the maker's mark in a different location. Supposedly, that variation is more rare than the one (mine) shown above and I have promised the owner not to distribute the PIC, so...

              Hi,

I said I was going to post pic's but the owner e mailed me before I could post any, so I forgot about this thread.

Anyway here is the picture of the WB in question, I will show my black badge also because I think it is an L 17 by the hinge, it look's like the 'combat badge' hinge typical of this maker.........I'm probably barking up the wrong tree !

              Kind regards,

              Marcus
