Is This A Real Medal?

Hello,
I have a photo album for a member of KG 54 and in it are a handful of photos of this man wearing this 'award' - can anyone tell me if it is a genuine award or just a fantasy piece made by the unit in jest?

I would say 'Joke/party' piece (rather than fantasy) just going by the rather crude ribbon.

He might of been to Stabsfeldwebel and this was part of the unit ritual??
