Okay you ribbon bar guys, what do you make of this one? This is not the device I expect to see on a RAD Long Service ribbon.

Strange RAD ribbon bar device

Verrrrrrrry nice!
This is a new one on me. There are many ribbon bar minis of the "flowers campaign" medals out there which serve no purpose at all, and we have seen, somewhere waaay back in the back pages (Erich's?) a photo with a WESTWALL mini medal on a ribbon bar, also rather pointless and non-regulation.
This serves a VERY useful purpose on what would otherwise be that @#&*%# blank blue ribbon, and may be a sneak end run around the ban on the 1940 cut out spade devices in bronze for 4 and silver for 12.

George, Rick, Daniel, Chris...
I think it is just fine. I have seen so many 'non regulation' ribbon bars and Rick and I have agreed and disagreed in the past on these things/devices. One of us has to keep his eyes open and find a catalog of these items. It has to be out there. Also - check your photos, even the small ribbons bars will probably, upon closer observation, reveal quite a few new and interesting (non regulation) ribbon bars.
I am glad to see that there a now a few more ribbon bar collectors out there!

Yeah, but it's the one like Erich's..
.... with the mini medal I don't have an example of. The single was great and I'm glad it has a good home! But I like my 2X RAD bar as it's still the only real double that Rick & Rick have seen! It's tough to see in my photo, but one device is actually silver and the other is bronze. One of the more obscure devices, for sure!
